HOME SWEET HOME - ART IN HOUSE ARREST
A film and an online group exhibition with drawings by
Jean-Daniel BERCLAZ Masha SHA Cécile DUPAQUIER

From the frustration of not having been able to make a pop-up exhibition during the Gallery Weekend Berlin (cancelled like all other events) came the desire to present drawings made during the confinement. The online format was obvious from the beginning. Since 2019 JORDAN/SEYDOUX has no more a space of its own, and in those times of reduced mobility, it would not have been so wise to rent one.
The question was and still is what is an online exhibition? How does it look like? How to go interactive with simple means? The answer we found is a short film (8mn) visible on youtube presenting the artists and their works in their home/studio along with photos of the works and photos of the artist’s creative space visible on the gallery website and on the artsy platform.
The presented drawings were made between mid-March and early May so was the music used for the film. The song « escape (1) » was composed and recorded by Graf Tati & Cécile Dupaquier in April. Many thanks to them, to Éléonore de Montesquiou who made the film and to Matthias Stief who shot the photos.
